About Penlan Farmhouse

Penlan Farmhouse, one of a pair of semi-detached traditional stone cottages set down a lane on a farm just on the outskirts of the tiny city of St Davids, while the surrounding fields are farmed, the yard itself is no longer in use.

Beautifully renovated yet retaining its original character, the quality furnishings have a timeless feel, with natural materials reflecting the calming tones of nature stunningly put together by a local Welsh interior designer (Pethau Bychain- Ritson Interiors). With practical wooden and tiled floors on the ground floor, enjoy family meals in the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen/diner where the large inglenook has been cleverly designed to give a snug sitting area, while the spacious lounge with its wood burning stove ensures a cosy feel on the chilliest of evenings. The ground floor bedroom to the rear is dual purpose and gives an additional quiet space to relax while the large utility room provides a practical room for drying walking gear and wetsuits.

Enjoy an alfresco meal in the rear, enclosed lawned garden with paved patio, there is even space for children to play. Stairs lead to the bedrooms above, the master is an absolute delight, spacious and light with glorious uninterrupted views across the fields to Carn Llidi. 3 steps lead down to the ensuite and also to the family bathroom but care is needed as they are set in the eaves with low beams.

Conveniently situated in this quiet rural spot yet a footpath downhill means you are only a 10 minute walk into St Davids with its shops, pubs restaurants and galleries to try. There are a host of annual events centred on the majestic Cathedral, explore the historical ruins of the Bishops Palace. Whitesands beach, officially rated one of the best beaches in the world, with its seasonal beachside cafe and hire centre is popular with families and surfers, beginners and professionals alike and is only 1.5 miles away. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to explore this stunning coastline a walk up Carn Lldi is the perfect way to really take in all its panoramic glory, especially the glorious sunsets. A boat trip around or to Ramsey Island should not be missed departing from St Justinians especially wonderful in September with the seal pups. There are a number of other beaches to visit nearby including St Nons Bay and Caerfai.

A quality holiday home for family and friends to enjoy whatever the season.
